KRISTIN LOWERY
Kristin Lowery has been the proud owner of South Seas Tattoo since 2011. Kristin hails from the Chicagoland area, where she worked as a graphic designer before moving to Hawai’i in 2008. She specializes in botanical, neo-traditional, and ornamental fine-line tattoos. The natural beauty of Hawaii, from ‘ōhi’a trees to manta rays, has been a huge source of inspiration for her work. Outside of tattooing, Kristin enjoys gardening, hiking, and yoga.

MATT HAWKINS
Originally hailing from Southern California, Matt has lived on the East side of the Big Island since 2002. After more than a decade as a graphic designer and freelance illustrator, followed by five years as lead animator of an independent sci-fi film, Matt joined South Seas Tattoo at its inception in 2011. Excelling in an array of styles, from bold color pieces to soft and realistic black and grey, Matt specializes in turning his client’s ideas into unique custom tattoos.

MIA LUM
Mia Lum is Hilo side born and raised. She has spent her entire life drawing and creating, which naturally lent itself to a career in tattooing. Mia started her apprenticeship in 2021 at South Seas and quickly became a full-time tattooer. While she can tattoo in a variety of styles, she excels at black and grey fine-line and engraving styles. Mia’s work highlights botanicals, animals, insects, oddities and the occasional medieval weapon.
